Job description

A career in our Property Valuation Practice, within Deals Valuation, offers the opportunity to leverage specialist expertise in the real estate market. Progressing towards qualification with professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI) is required.

As part of our team, you will be involved in real estate matters where we provide various services including valuations for taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and other advisory services. You will also be part of the integrated deals team offering real estate-related advice to clients from an overall deals perspective.

PwC works on some of the largest and highest quality real estate across Canada, covering core and alternative asset classes. Our valuation services support transaction pricing, strategic decision-making, regulatory and financial reporting, income tax, and estate planning. Our key services include real estate assurance, business valuations with real estate components, purchase price allocations, financial modeling, and real estate appraisals. Our clients trust us to help them understand the value of their real estate.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a Real Estate Valuations Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to address complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the preparation and analysis of real estate market research across multiple asset classes in various markets across Canada.
• Supporting the preparation of initial drafts of reports, valuation analyses, memos, and pitches, using industry and business acumen.
• Supporting our real estate assurance function, including reviewing valuation methodologies and assumptions for financial statements of clients such as pension funds, REITs, private equity, and developers.
• Interacting with clients, advisors, and stakeholder groups.
• Collaborating with PwC Valuations and Real Assets teams and supporting projects within the deals ecosystem, including corporate finance, restructuring, and value creation practices involving real estate.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

• A demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and working with diverse perspectives.
• Ability to multitask within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A broad real estate background, potentially with an AACI designation.
• Familiarity with highest & best use analysis, leasing strategy, facility management, or corporate real estate is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analyses; experience with Argus is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint for pitches, presentations, and deliverables.
