Job description

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Real Estate Law Clerk to join our dynamic team. The role will involve assisting in drafting legal documents, conducting research, liaising with clients and government agencies, as well as Executive Assistant to the President duties. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of land development projects while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

1. Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, permits and zoning applications.

2. Conduct thorough legal research on land use regulations, zoning ordinances, environmental laws, and other relevant statutes.

3. Liaise with government agencies, municipalities, and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and documentation for land development projects.

4. Maintain organized and up-to-date files, records, and databases related to land development matters.

5. Assist in the preparation of presentations, proposals, and submissions for stakeholders, and public hearings.

6. Collaborate with internal teams, including real estate developers, engineers, and environmental consultants, to facilitate smooth project implementation.

7. Provide administrative support, such as scheduling and taking meeting minutes, managing correspondence, and maintaining calendars.

8. Stay informed about changes in land development laws, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate relevant updates to the team.

9. Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of work, ensuring compliance with legal and professional codes of conduct.

Requirements :

  • Education in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. Additional certifications or coursework in land use law or real estate development would be an asset.
  • Proven experience working in a legal environment, preferably with exposure to land development, real estate, or municipal law.
  • Strong proficiency in conducting legal research using online databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to take on new challenges in a dynamic environment.
