Job summary

CareTech Community Services is hiring a Children's Residential Support Worker in Balfron. You’ll support young people with daily routines, school prep, meals, and engaging activities in a warm, homely house.

We value warmth, patience, and strong communication. A full UK driving licence is essential; sponsorship is not available. You’ll receive full training and help shape safe outcomes for each child.

Location: Balfron Glasgow/Stirling G63 Scotland

£27,976 unqualified - £29,036 with an SVQ or HNC - £33,259 with SVQ and HNC per annum.

A full UK driving licence is required and we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

What You’ll Do

As a Children's Residential Support Worker you will support young people with their daily routines, getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.

  • Ensure our children receive the highest level of support
  • Support senior staff with timely updates
  • Promote individuality not a "one size fits all" approach
  • Complete and update care plans regularly, updating with any additional requirements
  • Be part of a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support
  • Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.
Where You’ll Do It

Shian house is situated in the small village of Balfron, surrounded by striking scenery. The house itself is a spacious five-bedroom house consisting of a games room, quiet room, large lounge and dining area. The extensive garden area provides a range of opportunities for young people with a large enclosed space offering a large trampoline lowered into the ground, football goals and swings for the leisure of the young people. The garden also has raised beds used for growing our own vegetables which are then used by the young people and our cook in preparing meals for the house.
