Typical Starting Salary Range is $22.50 - 30.02/hr

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Environmental Services, Waste Management Division, Hazardous Waste Management Bureau has a full-time vacancy for a RCRA Reporting & Information Management Specialist.

Summary:

Researches and reviews information and data and provides technical assistance for the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Subtitle C (RCRA – C) Reporting and Information Management program, including data and document management duties; assessment and collection of fees; guidance to the regulated community; and management of the day-to-day business functions of the section when the supervisor is unavailable.

Your Experience Counts: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience, and each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of formal education.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, information management, accounting, business management, or a related field. Additional education may substitute for work experience.
  • Experience: Two years in data management, quality control, auditing, records management, or related fields involving environmental compliance, with responsibilities in planning, monitoring, or research. Additional experience may substitute for education.
  • License/Certification: None required.

Preferred Traits: Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, communicate effectively, interpret regulations, organize large data sets, manage multiple priorities, and detect errors.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance on hazardous waste management reporting, laws, and regulations.
  • Manage the Hazardous Waste Quarterly Report program, including fee collection and discrepancy resolution.
  • Maintain and verify data in the RIMS database, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
  • Maintain an electronic document library for hazardous waste programs.
  • Prepare reports and analyze data for compliance, enforcement, and planning.
  • Conduct application reviews, background checks, and compliance audits for the Hazardous Waste Transporter Registration program.
  • Participate in meetings, review policies, and test new systems and upgrades.
  • Assist in training and outreach activities, including presentations.
  • Manage daily operations of RIMS in the supervisor’s absence.
  • Seek process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
