Job summary

FedEx is seeking a Ramp Agent for the Ottawa area to support loading and unloading operations. The role includes mentoring hourly staff, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating cargo handling tasks in a fast-paced environment.

You will need a high school diploma, six months of relevant experience, and ability to lift up to 70 lbs with equipment. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Six months experience/training in jet aircraft ground support equipment/aircraft operations.
  • Proficiency in basic MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of FAMIS, COSMOS, e-mail and FedEx intranet systems preferred.
  • Ability to prepare and process Canadian customs paperwork.
  • Complete required training and maintain accreditations (GSE admin/operator permit, DG Specialist, W&B/recurrency).
  • EXCEL/LEAP candidates preferred.
  • Good understanding of FedEx products and loading/unloading procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate loading/unloading activities and mentor cargo handlers.
  • Demonstrate leadership and best-practice communication.
  • Support courier, cargo handler and dispatcher duties as needed.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with training and accreditation requirements.

Job description

Coordinates all operations relating to aircraft
loading/unloading activities; provides leadership to
cargo handlers and operational and personnel
support. May perform job duties and responsibilities

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

High school/educational equivalent

Six (6) months experience/training in jet aircraft ground support equipment/aircraft operations

Demonstrated proficiency in basic level MS Word and Excel

Knowledge of FAMIS, COSMOS, e-mail and FedEx intranet systems preferred

Ability to successfully complete all required basic training and maintain accreditation through yearly recurrency training, i.e. GSE administrator and operator permit, DG Specialist certified, W&B certification, etc.

Les candidats seront également évalués selon : 1) leur relevé annuel de conduite ; 2) leur performance en entrevue ; et 3) leurs résultats aux évaluations de conduite administrées.
