Job summary

All Ontario Recycling (AOR) seeks a Rail Team Lead to oversee the Rail Team operating on and alongside active rail lines at designated sites across Ontario.

You will monitor rail traffic, coordinate movements, and ensure the team can safely clear the rail within required time and distance. The role emphasizes safety, field documentation, and occasional welding or minor repairs, with outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

• Leadership experience and ability to guide a rail team.
• Excellent communication and clear direction to team members.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• High safety focus and ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment.
• Good situational awareness and ability to respond to changing conditions.
• Ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
• Capable of working effectively within a team.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Rail Team, including the Torch Operator and AZ Operator.
• Provide direction to ensure work is completed efficiently and safely.
• Monitor team location, activities, and progress throughout the day.
• Ensure understanding and adherence to rail-site procedures.
• Maintain focus on safety and well-being of the team.
• Communicate clearly with team and nearby personnel.
