HDR is currently looking for a Rail Engineer In Training (EIT) to join our growing Rail Design and Delivery group, supporting various railway infrastructure projects from feasibility studies to detailed design and environmental assessments. HDR is a leading transportation design firm known globally for delivering custom solutions to challenging projects.

In the role of Rail EIT, you'll be expected to:

  1. Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers in developing track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  2. Coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle under supervision of a Project Manager.
  3. Develop design criteria, project guides, meeting notes, and project controls in support of the Project Manager.
  4. Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers and project managers on larger projects.
  5. Provide guidance to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
  6. Collaborate with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for project reviews.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to interact effectively with various design teams, with excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
