Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient & staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous improvement of quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

The Radiological Technologist works in a computerized environment, producing diagnostic radiographs as assigned and carrying out diagnostic procedures independently or with a radiologist or other physician. Applies radiation safety principles to protect patients, staff, and the public, and completes documentation and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist.
  • Graduation from an approved radiology technology program.
  • Eligible for CAMRT membership.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Physical ability to meet job requirements.
  • Proficiency with related equipment, including computers.
