Job summary

Lakeridge Health Oshawa is seeking a DRCC Radiation Therapist for a temporary full-time role at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. The position involves patient care, simulation, treatment planning, delivery and monitoring within the DRCC program.

Responsibilities include performing treatments, educating patients, maintaining records, QA, and working across satellite sites. Compensation is hourly, with shifts including days, evenings, weekends and on-call.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized Radiation Therapy training program with CMRT Ontario registration.
• CMRT Ontario registration recommended.
• Current CPR registration.
• Excellent technical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and core values.

Responsibilities

• Perform all radiation treatment and planning procedures to ensure accurate delivery of a prescribed course of radiation therapy including simulation, treatment delivery, basic dosimetry and brachytherapy.
• Maintain an accurate record of all aspects of the treatment procedure, calculations, dose and related information.
• Educate patients in all aspects of their prescribed treatment in accordance with MDRCC policy.
• Interpret, assess and verify all treatment parameters including dose distribution and imaging data.
• Assess patient-related problems and decide on the appropriate course of action.
• Perform daily quality assurance procedures for the assigned unit.
• Maintain updated knowledge of departmental techniques and policies.
• Participate in development and execution of quality assurance procedures.
• Maintain continuing competency through attending continuing education programs.
• Work at satellite locations within regional program (Peterborough).
• Other duties as assigned.
