Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Materials / Polymer Science.
• Ability to follow SOPs.
• Previous co-op experience in plastics or R&D is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of new/existing vinyl formulations.
• Evaluate properties of polymers such as PVC, CPVC, ABS, PE, PP, PVDF.
• Write technical reports and present findings.

Job Summary

The R&D Group (IPEX Technologies Inc.) specializes in polymer formulation development, product testing to standards, troubleshooting failures, and evaluating new ingredients to maintain and enhance IPEX’s product portfolio and market position.

• Contribute to the development of new / existing vinyl formulations
• Evaluate properties of polymers such as PVC, CPVC, ABS, PE, PP, PVDF
• Assist in sourcing raw materials through evaluation projects
• Participate in extrusion and injection molding trials
• Use analytical tools to identify root causes of product failures
• Apply statistical analysis to validate findings
• Write technical reports and present findings
• Maintain laboratory records and project documentation
• Support R&D initiatives and maintain a clean lab environment

Qualifications & Experience

• Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Materials / Polymer Science
• Previous co-op experience in plastics or R&D is preferred
• Experience with DOE and statistical tools like Minitab is a plus
• Ability to follow SOPs
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Results-oriented with a professional attitude
