Job summary

Commissionaires Ottawa is seeking a Quartermaster (Logistics & Supply Operations Manager) to oversee the organization’s uniform and equipment program supporting approximately 3,600 operational personnel.

This role leads logistics, supply, and inventory operations end-to-end including procurement, asset control, distribution, and replacement, ensuring personnel are properly equipped to meet operational requirements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in supply chain, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising staff and setting daily operational priorities.
  • Experience in inventory management, purchasing, warehousing, or logistics operations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with frontline personnel, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of uniforms and related equipment, including procurement, storage, issuance, recovery, replacement, and disposal
  • Maintain accurate inventory control systems, conduct regular counts and reconciliations, and implement controls to minimize loss or misuse
  • Forecast inventory requirements based on operational demand, workforce changes, and historical usage
  • Coordinate purchasing activities within delegated authority, including vendor sourcing, purchase orders, and invoice verification
  • Develop and maintain specifications, standards, and guidelines for uniforms and managed equipment
  • Oversee uniform distribution and service operations, including point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and issue resolution
  • Provide direction, set priorities, and support the daily work of operational support staff, temporary employees, and students
  • Advise internal stakeholders on program changes, costs, timelines, and operational impacts
  • Support special events or operational surges requiring coordinated outfitting and logistics support

Location: 24 Colonnade Road, Ottawa ON
Schedule: Daytime, Monday to Friday
Starting Salary: $64,661/ year


Commissionaires Ottawa is seeking a Quartermaster (Logistics & Supply Operations Manager) to oversee the organization’s uniform and equipment program supporting approximately 3,600 operational personnel.


This role leads logistics, supply, and inventory operations end-to-end including procurement, asset control, distribution, and replacement, ensuring personnel are properly equipped to meet operational requirements.


The position is well suited to individuals with experience in structured logistics or supply environments, including those transitioning from military logistics, supply, or equipment management roles, as well as civilian professionals with comparable operational responsibility.


The Quartermaster provides hands‑on leadership, supervises a small team, and maintains clear standards, controls, and service expectations.


What you will be doing…


  • Manage the full lifecycle of uniforms and related equipment, including procurement, storage, issuance, recovery, replacement, and disposal

  • Post‑secondary education in supply chain, logistics, business administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

  • Demonstrated experience in inventory management, purchasing, warehousing, or logistics operations

  • Experience supervising staff and setting daily operational priorities

  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills

  • Comfort working with inventory systems, point‑of‑sale tools, and standard office applications

  • Must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Secret security clearance
