Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team in Watford. You will actively tender, estimate and measure on site, and liaise with direct labour to support projects across public, private, residential and educational sectors.

The role covers valuation, cost control and commercial risk management with opportunities in painting-related work, refurbishments and core contracts. An entrepreneurial, analytical professional will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar estimating and surveying role.
• Experience of the commercial management of projects from tender and estimation stages through to final account.
• Experience of successfully managing a value of works up to £3 million annually.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a focus on opportunities and gains.
• You will describe yourself as commercial, analytical, and accurate in your approach.

Responsibilities

• Tender, estimate and measure on site and liaise with direct labour at the client.

Our client are expanding their commercial team out of their Watford office.They are looking for an enthusiastic, people focused and entrepreneurial Quantity Surveyor to join their dedicated commercial and operational team, who specialise in Painting and Decorating and associated planned refurbishment works to the public, private, residential and educational sector .Ideally they are looking for Quantity Surveyor with experience dealing and working with direct labour teams of people , time sheets etc . Any background in painting, brickwork or plastering or roofing ,or new builds in terms of QS could work for this role along with tendering ,estimating and refurbishments but dealing and working with direct teams is a big tick .However if you have any exposure in regards to QS in painting work worth mentioning that in the CVThe main points we are looking for are bwith reference to:o CVRs/Valuationso Live within easy travelling of Watford areao Dealing with direct labour and timesheetso Schedules of Rateso Formal qualifications or surveyor trainingo Any exposure to Painting/ Decorating .o Estimating / Measuring and applying rates£69,490 inc car allowance ( 6700) plus fuel card , Profit share last year 9.33% , private health, pension, life etcPainting background isn't essential , though do mention if you have any exposure to thatThey have been an established and leading property services company for over 75 years, based across England and Wales, in over 18 locations and 32 Business Units, so very well established . The Quantity Surveyor role

As a Quantity Surveyor , you will actively tender, estimate and measure onsite and also liaise with direct labour at the client . We can offer a variety of works including established frameworks and core contracts with prestigious clients within the public, and residential sector as well as our services covering into the retirement living, commercial and education sectors too. Specifically, you will:

• Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any commercial risks.
• Prepare cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the outset.
• Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity labour targets are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives where possible.
• Build strong client and supplier relations, to ensure any variations and progress of contracts are discussed and mutual solutions are sought, always.
• Complete and analyse weekly reporting from site, ensuring it has adequate cost information (including labour rates and performance expectations, budgets, value, progress, quality, and safety)
