Group Summary

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.

About the Role

Responsible for all activities relating to Quality on his / her respective Production Shift. Selected candidate must be flexible to work all 3 shifts.

Who we are looking for

  • Minimum Grade 12 (High School) Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years Manufacturing Quality experience
  • Completion of a Post-Secondary education program preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to work 2nd and 3rd shift
  • CMM Programming experience preferred

Your preferred qualifications

  • Computer literate : Lotus, Word and strong knowledge of GD&T Strong mathematical and statistical background
  • Problem solving, decision making abilities
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Valid Driver’s license

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead problem solving for applicable customer quality concerns (customer specific reports : 8D, 7 Step, 5 Phase, Is / Is Not, 6 Panel, Red X etc.)
  • Inspect parts as needed
  • Able to complete and understand 1st off and Poke Yoke Process.
  • Conduct gauge R&R and capability studies
  • Coordinate the trial of new material through PERs
  • Follow plant housekeeping and safety standards and make recommendations for improvement to the safety program where applicable
  • Manage the Quality Quarantine Cage through material management and 5S
  • Empty red bins and disposition of material at the end of each shift. (when applicable)
  • Take the lead on Quality decisions affecting their shift
  • Document the results of all testing and maintain an on going history log
  • Coordinate sorting activity with suppliers and third party sorting companies
  • Sort material to support production
  • Communicate issues to the Quality Department via e-mail
  • Enter scrap tags / sheets into the material database
  • Create Quality Alerts
  • Perform Travel & Effort (T&E) testing on the finish Product / Module
  • Manage WAP returned modules and isolate defective components.
  • Provide support to the Windsor Modules Quality Liaison Team
  • Performs all duties in accordance with IATF16949 and ISO 14001
  • Safe working practices, and compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Perform other duties as required

  • Completion of layer process audits 100%
  • Customer PPM
  • Execute all programs / projects within the established budget
  • Plant achieving IATF16949
  • TGIF Program – 3 suggestions / employee
  • Adherence to all Windsor Modules policies and guidelines
