Job summary

Superior Cabinets in Saskatoon (Manufacturing Plant) is seeking a Quality Technician. The role centers on weekend shifts with flexibility for other shifts as needed to support operations.

You will perform SPC audits, support quality initiatives, and ensure products meet standards through collaboration with the QA team. You will also train new hires, prepare monthly quality reports, and advise management on root causes and corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Experience in quality in a cabinet/manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Lean/Six Sigma, RCA, QMS training will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily SPC and audit activities (Out of Box audit, machine, and department checks).
  • Execute quality initiatives and processes currently in place and as assigned.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve auditing procedures for CI.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and applications.
  • Conduct regular meetings with manufacturing supervisors to ensure consistency and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with Quality Manager to address quality concerns and implement corrective controls.
  • Prepare monthly reports on inspections and audit performance.
  • Provide clear feedback to management on quality issues.
  • Assist in quality education of new hires.
  • Inspect products for White Glove, 1st Order Kitchen, and VIP jobs.
  • Support document control development and CI actions.

Job description

Objective:

The Quality Technician is responsible for creating and maintaining a culture and work environment which supports the production, transportation and installation of quality goods. This role primarily involves the weekend shift, but the candidate must remain flexible to support other shifts as operational needs arise.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in and conduct daily audit activities (SPC, Out of Box audit, machine, and department specific checks).
  • Execute quality initiatives and processes currently in place and as assigned.
  • Continually evaluate and recommend alternative auditing procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of our product and its application.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the manufacturing supervisors to create consistency and teamwork.
  • Work closely with the Quality Manager and Quality Team Leader to act on quality concerns, identify the root cause and implement suitable control measures.
  • Prepare monthly reports showing inspections and audit performance as well as any opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide clear and concise feedback to management on quality related concerns.
  • Working alongside manufacturing to aid in quality education of new hires.
  • Inspect products for all White Glove, 1 st Order Kitchen, and VIP assigned jobs.
  • Support QA team leader in the development, standardization and management of controlled documents.
  • Support CI activities with regards to executing improvement actions.

Requirements:
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in quality in a cabinet or manufacturing environment will be an asset.
  • Education related to Lean/Six Sigma, RCA, QMS will be considered an asset.
