Job summary

Mitsui High-tec (Canada), Inc. in Brantford is expanding and hiring Quality Technicians to join our team. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, you will provide quality support and ensure products meet standards of presentation and quality.

The role requires hands-on inspection using micrometers, verniers, height gauges, CMM and optical test equipment, interpreting blueprints, supporting PFMEA/APQP and PPAP activities, and contributing to a safe, organized manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, with demonstrated experience in a quality-related role.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multi-task
  • Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email
  • Superior attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections, mechanical, and functional verification of parts to ensure compliance to set specification and quality standards
  • Competent with use of micrometers, verniers, height gauges, CMM, and Optical test equipment
  • Study product specifications and work instructions
  • Make independent judgements for subjective calls
  • Follow nonconforming part procedure to identify & isolate defective material
  • Support internal/external audit processes, as required
  • Support cross functional problem solving activities, as required
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints/inspection plans
  • Support PFMEA and APQP activities, as required
  • Support PPAP activities, as required
  • Helps to ensure the safety of the workforce
  • Identify problem areas, recommend, coordinate, and implement solutions
  • Collaborates with other departments to maintain the quality system
