Job summary

Agropur Cooperative is seeking an Operations Project Manager to lead capitalization and maintenance projects in collaboration with our Corporate Engineering team. You will manage from preparation through execution, ensuring budgets, schedules, and safety standards are met.

The role emphasizes driving measurable improvements in production while supporting startup and ongoing operations. A solid engineering background and strong project management are essential in our diverse Canadian operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Proven project management experience within the food manufacturing industry.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and execution of capital and maintenance projects with Corporate Engineering.
• Oversee project planning: proposals, budgets, technical specs, vendor quotations, contractor selection.
• Monitor budgets and schedules; ensure Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards are met.
• Coordinate handoff to internal clients with complete closeout documentation.
• Evaluate equipment to improve production performance while maintaining quality.
• Provide operational support during startup of new equipment and during production.

The Operations Project Manager

The Operations Project Manager will be responsible for the preparation and execution of capitalization projects and maintenance in collaboration with the corporate engineering team.

• Salary range 005: $88,300 à $110,400 (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)

‘Your role in achieving results:’

• The Project Manager, Operations will be responsible for the preparation and execution of capital and maintenance projects in collaboration with the Corporate Engineering team.
• Lead project preparation activities, including analysis and definition of project phases.
• Manage project planning activities, including proposals, budget estimates, technical specifications, vendor quotations, and contractor selection.
• Oversee the execution of project work while ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, in collaboration with various internal stakeholders.
• Monitor and control project budgets and schedules.
• Compile and/or prepare project closeout documentation to ensure an effective handoff to internal clients.
• Evaluate and/or design equipment to improve production performance while maintaining quality standards.
• Provide operational support during the startup of new equipment as well as during regular production activities.

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience required.
• Proven project management experience within the food manufacturing industry required.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automated Production Engineering, or another related field is considered an asset.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may also be considered.
