Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Canada, based in Longueuil, is seeking a Quality Specialist to ensure process and product quality at the Engine Center. The role supports assembly and testing activities, investigates non-conformities, and drives improvements to reduce quality costs.

The position is on-site, Monday–Friday with flexible hours, and requires an engineering-related degree with English proficiency for international communications.

Qualifications

• : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering or related field with 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• : Any other relevant experience will be considered and evaluated.
• : Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
• : Knowledge of DIVE/DAISE investigation process.
• : Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams during quality escapes to manage issues on delivered products.
• Act as the quality representative for an assembly and testing line within the Engine Center.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality.

As a Quality Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of processes and products at the Engine Center. You will support assembly line and engine testing activities to ensure compliance with quality requirements. You will be responsible for managing several quality investigations and will support operations in improving quality issues and reducing the cost of non-quality.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

In a results-driven environment focused on teamwork and continuous improvement, the Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality of processes and products at the Engine Center. The specialist supports assembly and testing activities to ensure compliance with quality requirements.

• Provide administrative and technical support related to product integrity for all quality control activities associated with assembly and testing.
• Investigate non-conforming processes and products (DAISE), identify root causes, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team during quality escapes within their area to ensure proper management of the issue and address impacts on delivered products.
• Act as the quality representative/support for an assembly and testing line within the Engine Center.
• Lead initiatives and projects aimed at reducing the cost of poor quality within their area of responsibility.
• Maintain a strong focus on processes and results.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and implement new and creative solutions.
• Apply project management skills effectively.

What do you need to be successful?

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Any other relevant experience related to the position will be considered and evaluated.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, as well as SAP.
• Good knowledge of statistical analysis tools used for product and process improvement.
• Knowledge of the DIVE/DAISE investigation process.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and able to perform duties with minimal supervision.

This position is within a French-speaking work environment; however, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand daily documentation and technical terms from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with international clients, suppliers, or colleagues.
