Job summary

The Tlicho Community Services Agency is seeking a Quality Specialist, Child and Family Services, to lead region-wide quality improvement and assurance activities across the CFS portfolio. You will audit files, data and programs to ensure safe care for children, youth, and families in the Tlicho region.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work and a minimum of three years in Child and Family Services, with priority given to those with Child Protection experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Child and Family Services.
  • Experience in Child Protection is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and communicate CFS policies, procedures, and standards; monitor compliance and support staff.
  • Conduct audits to evaluate service quality and compliance; identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Support training, feedback collection, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor trends and issues using systems (e.g., Matrix) to inform decision-making.
  • Review significant incidents, provide guidance, and ensure risk mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Advise leadership on complex cases, complaints, and quality/risk issues.
  • Identify training gaps and support consistent delivery across programs.

Job Information

The Quality Specialist, Child and Family Services (CFS) ensures that the Tlicho Community Services Agency is aligned with best practices in child and family services within the Tlicho region. This position performs region wide CFS quality improvement and quality assurance activities to ensure safe care to children, youth, and families, including but not limited to the auditing of the CFS files, data and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and communicate Child and Family Services policies, procedures, and standards; monitor compliance and support staff.

Key Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Social Work AND
  • A Minimum of Three (3) years of experience in Child and Family Services.

Applicants with experience in Child Protection will be given priority.

Additional Requirements

The incumbent must successfully be appointed as a Child Protection Worker within the first six (6) months of employment and maintain it.
