Job summary

PAL Aerospace in Winnipeg, MB, seeks an experienced Quality Specialist to lead the FAcT Program Quality Management System, ensuring ISO 9001:2015 conformance and contractual compliance. You will develop processes, procedures, and documentation supporting DTAES accreditation and program audits.

As part of the Core Team, you will manage risk, track corrective actions, and contribute to safety reporting and improvement initiatives while supporting external audits and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of aviation experience in a safety, quality, maintenance, or airworthiness role.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, or maintaining a Quality Management System.
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, or auditing AS9110 and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.
  • Experience working in Department of National Defence/Canadian Air Force Airworthiness programs within an AMO.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the FAcT Program Quality Management System, ensuring conformance with ISO 9001:2015 and contractual requirements.
  • Plan and lead the development of quality management processes, procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Support accreditation activities and the Maintenance Process Manual in line with DTAES requirements.
  • Maintain the Program Audit and Inspection Program to verify compliance and support external audits.
  • Attend daily operational meetings and review reports to support risk analysis and timely resolution.
  • Identify improvements to Quality and Safety Management Systems and support approved changes.

PAL Aerospace is proud to partner with SkyAlyne, the prime contractor for the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program-Canada's next-generation training initiative for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). This transformative program will redefine how Canada trains its pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers (ACSOs), and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators (AES Ops) through a powerful blend of live flying, advanced simulation, and classroom instruction.

PAL Aerospace is seeking an experienced Quality Specialist to join our team in Winnipeg, MB, supporting the Future Aircrew Training Program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the FAcT Program Quality Management System, ensuring conformance with ISO 9001:2015, contractual requirements, and the approved Quality Management Plan.
  • Plan and lead the development of quality management processes, procedures, and supporting documentation for the Program.
  • Support the achievement of Directorate of Technical Airworthiness and Engineering Support (DTAES) Acceptable Maintenance Organization (AMO) accreditation.
  • Support the development of the Maintenance Process Manual (MPM) in accordance with applicable DTAES requirements.
  • Maintain the Program Audit and Inspection Program to verify compliance with applicable quality plans, standards, contractual requirements, and regulatory/airworthiness obligations, and support external audits by DTAES, the prime contractor, and other agencies as required.
  • Support Technical Airworthiness Clearance activities required to achieve and maintain fleet airworthiness.
  • Attend daily operational meetings to ensure issues requiring follow-up or corrective action are reported in the applicable system, and review submitted reports with the Core Team to support risk analysis, assignment of ownership, and timely resolution.
  • In conjunction with department leads, assist with the collection of information and data, and completion of quality and safety reports, to ensure the Corrective/Preventive Action (CPA) percentage meets required company and contractual standards.
  • In consultation with department leads, ensure risk analysis, investigations, and corrective actions related to reports and audit findings are completed within assigned timelines.
  • Maintain the reporting system to support timely collection, tracking, and analysis of information related to hazards, incidents, and accidents that may affect safety.
  • Assist in producing Safety Management System (SMS) reports for the Core Team and Accountable Executive.
  • Monitor departmental safety/operational objectives and goals and provide feedback to Core Team.
  • Meet with the relevant managers on a regular basis to review all quality and safety reports to ensure they are completed within the defined timelines.
  • Maintain the program Audit and Inspection program.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to the Quality and Safety Management Systems, and support implementation of approved changes.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of aviation experience in a safety, quality, maintenance, or airworthiness role, including experience maintaining or supporting a management system.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, or maintaining a Quality Management System.
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, or auditing AS9110 and ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards.
  • Experience working in Department of National Defence/Canadian Air Force Airworthiness programs within an AMO.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with risk management, hazard assessments, corrective action processes, root cause analysis, and document control would be considered an asset.
Security Responsibilities:

Incumbent must be eligible for Government Personnel Security Clearance.
