Job summary

SGS is seeking a Quality Manager in Canada to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) for Minerals and Natural Resources. You will partner with leadership to promote quality excellence, manage audits, support risk initiatives, and drive improvements across the organization.

The role requires experience in QMS, auditing, and regulatory/compliance, with a focus on ISO/IEC 17025, and will involve training and guiding cross-functional

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, science, business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management, quality assurance, compliance, or a related field.
  • Experience managing quality systems and audit programs.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and quality assurance principles.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and auditing practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the QMS - ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Ensure QMS documentation, records, and procedures remain current and effectively implemented.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and support accreditation activities.
  • Investigate nonconformances, customer complaints, and quality concerns.
  • Facilitate corrective and preventive action processes and verify effectiveness.
  • Support risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide quality guidance and technical support to operational teams and leadership.

Job Description

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, maintenance,
and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in Minerals, Natural Resources, Canada. The role ensurescompliance with applicable standards, accreditation requirements, regulatory obligations, andcustomer expectations. The Quality Manager partners with operational leaders and stakeholders topromote quality excellence, manage audit and compliance activities, support risk management initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS) - ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Ensure QMS documentation, records, and procedures remain current and effectively implemented.
  • Establish and maintain effective document control processes.
  • Ensure personnel are trained, qualified, and competent to perform assigned responsibilities.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and support accreditation activities.
  • Lead investigations relating to nonconformances, customer complaints, and quality concerns.
  • Facilitate corrective and preventive action processes and verify effectiveness.
  • Support risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide quality guidance and technical support to operational teams and leadership.
  • Develop and deliver training related to quality systems, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and guidance regarding quality management requirements and best practices.
  • Supervises and develops assigned personnel and supports recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities as required.
  • Balances operational requirements with quality, compliance, and customer expectations while managing multiple priorities, audits, investigations, and improvement initiatives.
  • Decisions directly impact quality performance, customer satisfaction, compliance, accreditation status, operational effectiveness, and organizational reputation.
  • Investigates quality issues, determines root causes, evaluates risks, develops corrective actions, interprets standards and regulations and analyzes trends to support informed decision-making.
Qualifications

Compensation:$84,000 to $100,000 per year
