Job summary

SGS is seeking a laboratory technician to receive, inspect, sort, and label client samples, perform routine testing, and record data. You will calibrate and operate equipment, maintain a clean workspace, and follow safety and quality protocols.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent English communication and the ability to work collaboratively, with occasional shift work, are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Good hand/eye coordination for samples & equipment.
  • Able to read and follow work instructions safely and accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Effective English communication, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to work with others and independently; under pressure.
  • Extended hours and shift work may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate results and maintain equipment.
  • Calibrate/setup equipment and install operating systems.
  • Maintain a clean working environment and safety practices.

  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.

Job Description
  • Receive, inspect, sort and label client samples.
  • Sort, crush, pulverize, split, and screen samples.
  • Conduct routine testing.
  • Record test data and communicate results.
  • Carry out routine equipment maintenance.
  • Calibrate and setup equipment prior to analysis.
  • Install and operate equipment and systems.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Follow all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Follow all Quality system protocols and report any discrepancies to the Supervisor.
  • May be assigned special or ad hoc projects.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Required
  • Good hand/eye coordination when handling samples & various equipment.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Incumbents must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Good time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work well with others & independently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
Additional Information

Salary:$20.50 to $21.50 per hour

  • 80% coverage Health, Dental and Vision
  • Paid time off
