Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Quality Lead with a minimum of 5+ years in the construction industry to develop, oversee and enhance project quality management plans, ITPs, and QA/QC processes across residential, commercial and industrial projects. The role emphasizes risk-based planning, contract interpretation, and coordinating audits while leading meetings and training colleagues.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in construction with focus on quality management systems
  • Ability to lead implementation of quality plans, risk and QA/QC activities
  • Self-directed, proactive team player in fast-paced environments
  • Experience reviewing drawings, specs, and contracts for compliance

Responsibilities

  • Develop, oversee and evaluate PQMP and ITPs for multiple projects
  • Perform audits and address identified action items
  • Review contracts, specifications and drawings; provide concise comments
  • Assess potential risks and formulate mitigation strategies
  • Independently review drawings for compliance with quality requirements
  • Lead and implement the quality program across project types
  • Elevate issues and drive improvements in the quality program
  • Organize and lead internal and external meetings
  • Assist in training colleagues and evaluating performance
  • Manage client relationships and represent the company professionally
  • Maintain ownership of the quality program when dealing with clients
  • Communicate quality program information clearly in various contexts
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of construction operations

You as a Quality Lead will:
  • Develop, oversee, and evaluate Project Quality Management Plans (PQMP) as well as Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
  • Perform audits and subsequently address identified action items
  • Review and interpret contracts, specifications, drawings, and provide concise comments
  • Assess potential future risks and formulate comprehensive mitigation strategies.
  • Independently review drawings and specifications for compliance
  • Implement the quality program across various project types (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.)
  • Confidently to elevate issues with the quality program
  • Foster innovations and implement them into the quality program
  • Be capable of independently organizing and leading internal and external meetings
  • Support in the training and assistance of colleagues
  • Evaluate employee performance either through informal assessments or during formal review sessions
  • Manage and maintain the relationship with clients and present the company in a professional manner
  • Maintain ownership of the quality program when dealing with the client
  • Clearly communicate information about the quality program in various situations
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of construction operations
Is this the right role for you?
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the construction industry (preferably ICI), and familiarity with quality management systems and practices
  • Ability to champion and lead the effective implementation of operational best practices, project quality plans, risk management strategies, and quality assurance/control activities
  • You are a self-directed, motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • The salary range for this job is $90,000 - $115,000 annually
