Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Guelph, Ontario, is seeking a Quality Inspector - Level 1 to uphold quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods. You will use gauges and CMMs and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year in automotive manufacturing, proficiency with measurement tools, GD&T, SPC concepts, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience in automotive manufacturing environment or equivalent education
• Knowledge and ability to use measuring equipment, such as micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges
• Ability to operate CMM and interpret inspection results
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both individual and team settings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to learn new software applications
• Demonstrated ability to acquire proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprint drawings and GD&T symbols
• Ability to learn and apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts

Responsibilities

• Receive inspections of incoming material to ensure product specifications.
• Monitor and inspect parts during the production process to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Perform first off inspections to authorize full production.
• Conduct product audits by measuring all part features against drawings.
• Perform final release inspections and authorize shipment to customers.
• Apply IATF standards for handling non-conforming material.
• Use documentation related to quality inspections.
• Communicate and report product deviations to relevant personnel.
• Adhere to health and safety, environmental policies.

Job Title: Quality Inspector - Level 1

Job Summary

Responsibility

• Conduct inspections of parts using appropriate gauging or measuring equipment to ensure product aligns with customer standards through various process, including:
• Receiving Inspections: Assess incoming material based on product specifications to ensure required standards.
• In process inspections: Monitor and inspect parts during production process to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards.
• First off inspection: Inspect part specifications and authorize full production.
• Product Audits: Conduct full layout of all part features by measuring all part features to ensure compliance with drawing specifications.
• Final release inspections: Evaluate parts and authorize shipment of parts to the customer.
• Apply IATF standards for handling non-conforming material, including identification and inspection procedures.
• Use appropriate documentation related to quality inspections.
• Communicate and report any product deviations found to relevant individuals.
• Adhere to all Health and safety, environmental legislation, policies and procedures

Academic/Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
