Job summary

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) seeks a Quality Inspector to support the Quality Manager and project teams in field inspections across the Airfield Electrical & Civil Sub-Program. You will verify compliance with drawings, specs, codes, and ESA/GTAA standards, identify non-conformances, and help drive corrective actions to protect project quality.

Based in Mississauga with site visits to airside and terminal zones, this full-time role requires strong documentation skills, experience

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Journeyperson / Red Seal (Industrial Electrician) preferred.
• 3-5 years of quality inspection in industrial, infrastructure, or airport projects.
• Minimum 3 years Canadian industrial/infrastructure experience with ESA familiarity.
• Strong understanding of inspection processes and QA/QC documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of electrical and civil works to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, codes and project requirements.
• Inspect materials, equipment, and installations to meet project and regulatory quality standards prior to acceptance.
• Review and complete inspection reports, checklists, test records, and turnover documentation.
• Verify subcontractor work activities and support ITPs, NCRs, and final inspections.
• Identify deficiencies or non-conforming work and support NCR tracking and closeout.
• Maintain accurate inspection logs, records, and photographic documentation.
• Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, engineering, and inspectors to ensure timely inspection coverage.

Together, weare delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-termInvestment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructuredevelopment plan. This multi-year program is designed to addressimmediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largestairport for the future of air travel including critical upgrades to airfield andinfrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization ofTerminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passengerexperience.

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector supports the Quality Manager and project teams byperforming field inspections and verification activities across assigned projectareas within the Airfield Electrical & Civil Sub-Program. This role is responsible for
ensuring that materials, installations, and construction activities are completed inaccordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and project qualityrequirements, with a strong focus on compliance with ESA and GTAA standards.The Quality Inspector plays a key role in identifying deficiencies, documenting nonconformances, and supporting corrective actions to maintain quality and projectintegrity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform field inspections of electrical and civil works to verify compliancewith approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and projectrequirements.
• Inspect materials, equipment, and installations to ensure they meet projectand regulatory quality standards prior to acceptance.
• Review and complete inspection reports, checklists, test records, andturnover documentation.
• Verify subcontractor work activities and support hold point, witness point, and final inspections in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Identify deficiencies or non-conforming work and support the issuance,tracking, and closeout of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Maintain accurate inspection logs, records, and photographic documentationof field activities.
• Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, engineering, and thirdparty inspectors to ensure timely inspection coverage and issue resolution.
• Participate in quality walkdowns, deficiency reviews, and turnoverinspections.
• Support testing and commissioning activities by confirming readiness anddocumentation completeness.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with ESA, GTAA, and project-specific qualityrequirements.
• Promote quality awareness and adherence to established QA/QC processesacross the project site.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned byidentifying recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.

WORK CONDITIONS

Based at project offices in Mississauga, with frequent visits to airside and terminalconstruction zones. Full-time, Monday to Friday, approx. 8:00am-5:00pm (1-hourlunch or as agreed). RAIC clearance and Criminal Background Check aremandatory due to airport security requirements.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES

• Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering Technology, orequivalent trade certification.
• Journeyperson / Red Seal (Industrial Electrician or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality inspection, QA/QC, orconstruction inspection within industrial, infrastructure, or airport projects.
• Minimum 3 years of Canadian industrial or infrastructure experience, withfamiliarity working under ESA requirements.
• Strong understanding of construction inspection processes, qualitydocumentation, and inspection/testing workflows.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, codes, and technicaldocuments.
• Experience with ITPs, NCRs, inspection reports, and turnoverdocumentation.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
• Proficient with MS Office, SharePoint, and/or QMS documentation systems.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to workeffectively with field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Experience in airport, transportation, or large infrastructure projects isconsidered an asset.
