Job summary

Placements24 seeks a meticulous Quality Improvement Engineer to join our Kimberley team. The role focuses on improving product and process quality through statistical methods and continuous improvement, working with manufacturing and engineering to drive excellence and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, 3–5 years in quality roles, and strong knowledge of ISO 9001, Minitab/JMP, and Lean/Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering or quality improvement in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality tools (7 QC tools, FMEA).
• Proficiency in Minitab and JMP.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures to ensure adherence to standards.
• Utilize SPC and DOE for process capability and optimization.
• Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving activities to address quality concerns.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement CAPA.
• Monitor and report on key quality metrics and the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or quality improvement roles, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., 7 QC tools, FMEA).
