Job summary

Johnson Electric in Stratford, ON is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead containment of quality issues, coordinate audits, and supervise Inspectors and Technicians on-site.

You will drive root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, while guiding a fast-paced manufacturing team.

This role offers a day shift, onsite work, and a competitive salary in CAD 80k–85k range with benefits.

Qualifications

  • PMT Level 2 certification or pursuing certification.
  • 3–5 years in high-speed manufacturing with strong quality focus.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Lean principles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement systems to contain internal quality issues and nonconforming product.
  • Supervise Quality Inspectors and Gauge Technicians; mentor staff.
  • Lead root cause analysis, troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Conduct audits of internal quality systems and partner with metrology teams.
  • Communicate quality performance to management, customers, and suppliers.
  • Support continuous improvement of quality processes.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure effective containment of internal quality issues and nonconforming product.
  • Support customer issue containment activities and ensure effective communication across all shifts.
  • Coordinate process control plan audits and implement corrective actions to address findings.
  • Supervise Quality Inspectors and Gauge Technicians, providing guidance and support.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective action activities.
  • Conduct regular audits of internal quality systems and processes.
  • Partner with metrology and quality teams to standardize measurement and inspection methods.
  • Communicate quality performance, issues, and progress to management, customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Facilitate employee training and development related to quality systems, equipment, and processes.
  • Maintain and monitor internal deviation databases and drive timely closure of open actions.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and company quality management systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving internal and external quality performance.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Powder Metallurgy Technologist (PMT) Level 2 Certification or currently working toward certification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in high-speed manufacturing environments with a strong focus on quality.
  • Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Bonus Points If You Have:
  • Experience supervising quality teams in automotive manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with containment systems, process audits, and customer quality concerns.
  • Knowledge of metrology, gauging systems, and measurement techniques.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting external customer audits and quality reviews.
