Job description

AAA Canada is looking for a Quality Engineering Planning Specialist with experience to join our team. The Candidate must perform specific quality engineering related functions to support the planning group, in order to support continuous operations of the Quality department and ensure that quality requirements and specific in-process inspections are performed during parts manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to understand product requirements and required inspection criteria needed to satisfy drawing and program requirements.
  • Support the efforts of the Planning Department and the Quality Control
  • Department by review planning as it is being developed to determine inspection points for specific in-process inspection requirements.
  • Specify and outline in-process inspection to be performed during manufacturing.
  • Ensure detailed inspection requirements for in-process inspection are documented and properly defined in the planning documentation.
  • Support the FAI Quality Engineering Coordinator with any specific information and / or data required to create or perform the FAIs.
  • Assist with the creation of detailed part inspection plans to assist with the ongoing inspection of production parts.
  • Assist with the first part qualification plan creation and process.
  • Assist with the creation, review of and resolution of nonconformance reports (DMRs)
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes, streamline workflows, and optimize quality control procedures.
  • Analyze inspection data and quality metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for improvement, as may be needed to support the Quality Department.
  • Collaborate with planning, production, engineering, inspection, and other relevant departments to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent future defects in support of the Quality Department.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the company.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety guidelines, and quality management systems to uphold the highest standards of product quality and integrity

Skills and qualifications

  • Equivalent 4 years high school plus Completion of 2 years of post-secondary in related field
  • Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data driven decisions. Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of quality and compliance. Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor) is a plus.

Required experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
