Job summary

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited, headquartered in Calgary, is seeking a Quality Engineer for Non-Conformance Management. You will lead NCR investigations, containment, and disposition while supporting compliance and continuous improvement across the quality system.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will coordinate corrective actions, track metrics, and support internal audits, with involvement in MRB activities and calibration and document control tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
  • Proficiency with quality tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Engineer, Non-Conformance Management, is responsible for leading NCR investigations, containment, disposition, corrective action implementation, and closure activities while supporting quality system compliance and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities (70% – 80%):

  • Take the lead of NCR process after initiation to closure.
  • Coordinate containment and disposition of non-conforming product.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Track NCR metrics and trends.
  • Support customer and supplier quality investigations.
  • Coordinate MRB activities and records.

Secondary Responsibilities (20% – 30%):

  • Support internal audits and corrective action follow-up.
  • Maintain quality procedures and forms.
  • Support First Article Inspections as required.
  • Assist with quality reporting and KPI tracking and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support calibration, training, and document control activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance or related discipline.
  • Must possess a minimum 3-5 years of Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance experience in an aerospace/defense manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
  • Proficiency with quality tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
