Job summary

Masco Canada is seeking a Quality Engineer Lead to join the Advanced Quality team on-site in St. Thomas, Ontario.

You will lead audits, NCMR/PIR investigations, supplier quality activities, and risk mitigation across product lines while coordinating with internal teams and legal counsel as needed. The role requires a college diploma or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in Quality Engineering or related fields, and experience with QMS, PPAP, and CAPA.

Qualifications

  • College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is an asset.
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt is considered an asset.
  • Experience with QMS, audits, CAPA and PPAP is preferred.
  • Experience with supplier quality and cross‑functional teamwork.

  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and records.
  • Lead Layered Process Audits (LPA), internal audits, and supplier audits.
  • Manage NCMR, PIR, warranty investigations, and CAPA actions.
  • Coordinate product incident records with stakeholders and legal as needed.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Monitor post‑launch performance, trends, and field quality to drive improvement.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Responsible for supporting Masco Canada's quality objectives through the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS). This role leads audits, NCMR and PIR investigations, supplier quality activities, customer complaints, warranty and field issue investigations, and product risk mitigation efforts. This individual is also responsible for coordinating product incident records and related activities with internal stakeholders and legal counsel as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), including procedures, work instructions, forms, and quality records.
  • Lead Layered Process Audits (LPA), internal audits, and compliance assessments to verify adherence to defined processes and quality requirements.
  • Manage the Non‑Conforming Material Report (NCMR) process, including investigation, disposition, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification.
  • Lead Product Incident Report (PIR), product complaint, warranty, and field failure investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support supplier quality management activities, including supplier audits, issue resolution, corrective action follow‑up, and ongoing supplier performance monitoring.
  • Facilitate structured problem‑solving activities using root cause analysis methodologies and cross‑functional teams.
  • Lead and monitor corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities to ensure timely implementation and verification of effectiveness.
  • Act as liaison between Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, Sales, and Legal regarding product performance concerns, risk mitigation activities, and litigation support.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve product and process performance.
  • Support product liability, insurance, labour, and litigation‑related investigations by providing technical analysis, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor post‑launch product performance, complaint trends, warranty data, and field quality issues to drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in Product Quality Response Team (PQRT) activities and support product risk assessment and resolution efforts.
  • Prepare and present quality reports, audit findings, corrective action status, and continuous improvement updates to management.
  • Support external audits, certification activities, and regulatory compliance requirements as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required to support Masco Canada's quality objectives and business needs.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING?
Critical Experience & Competencies
  • College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Systems, Supplier Quality, or a related field.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is an asset
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt is considered an asset
  • Automotive and lean manufacturing background is an asset
  • Experience maintaining and improving Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Proven knowledge of stage gate / APQP requirements (PPAP)
  • Experience conducting internal and external audits, Layered Process Audits (LPA), and supplier audits
  • Knowledge of corrective and preventive action (CAPA) systems and root cause analysis methodologies (8D, A3, 5 Why, Fishbone)
  • Experience managing NCMR, customer complaints, warranty investigations, and corrective actions
  • Proven ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy
  • Ability to prepare reports, present findings, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is an asset

Hiring Range: $67,900.00 - $106,590.00 CAD

The salary range shown reflects the expected annual base salary for this open position, plus other wage amounts such as annual bonus, profit sharing, and commissions.
