Job summary

Baylis Medical Technologies is seeking a Quality Engineer III to join our team and contribute to the full scope of the department's technical activities. You will participate in planning with leadership and provide guidance to technicians, while adhering to QMS documents and safety policies.

The role emphasizes ongoing professional training and the path to become a fully trained engineer, with a hybrid work model and opportunities for on-site training and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Typically 2–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated competence as Quality Engineer II or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve Quality Management System documents.
  • Participate in the department’s full scope of technical and documentation activities.
  • Participates in project-level planning with the leadership team and conducts independent work planning.
  • Provide technical, project-level guidance to technicians and engineering staff.
  • Comply with Health & Safety policies and inform management of unsafe conditions.
  • Other duties as required.

Description

The Big Picture

The Quality Engineer III receives ongoing professional training while participating in the full scope of the department's technical activities. The final developmental position prior to assuming the role and responsibility of a fully trained engineer.

Your Impact Through Innovation

Technical Duties:

  • Per Engineer II; with the expectation that the engineer is participating in the department’s full scope of technical and documentation activities.
  • Review and approval of Quality Management System documents

Decision-making Authority:

  • Makes decisions in an area of expertise, and where supported by precedence or clearly defined procedure.
  • Interpretations and conclusions are typically reviewed in detail.

Planning Responsibility:

  • Participates in project level planning with the leadership team.
  • Conducts independent work planning.
  • Work plans are reviewed for the impact to project level objectives.

Leadership Authority/Supervision Exercised:

  • May provide technical, project level guidance to technicians, engineering assistants or junior engineering staff.
  • May provide supervision to technicians and engineering assistants on relevant technical matters that fall within the scope of a project.
  • Comply with the Health & Safety policies of the company and inform Management of unsafe working conditions.

Other duties as required.
