Responsibilities
  • Responsible for gathering information and data relevant to solving quality-related problems; resolve issues by applying solutions from technical experience and established precedents.
  • Plan and lead projects by organizing activities in a sequence with realistic timelines; work effectively with all departments to foster a team environment.
  • Ensure products conform to established requirements and standards through audits, inspections, and testing; interact with multiple functional departments, suppliers, and external experts to implement Zimmer quality goals.
  • Assess methods, equipment, and processes to meet performance and quality requirements; establish quality plans for general and specific product/performance needs.
  • Monitor process performance against standards; apply ISO and QSR requirements to processes and procedures for Zimmer and external suppliers; collaborate with suppliers on new product introductions to ensure quality and performance requirements are met.
  • Assist Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Development in interpreting and applying regulations; develop and manage department and project budgets.
What you’ll bring / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with quality certification (e.g., CQE); OR ASQ CQE certification or CRE (or provincial equivalent) is preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role; medical device experience strongly preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong ability to work in a team, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders (suppliers, regulatory agencies, etc.), and facilitate quality engineering projects.
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) across multiple levels of the company; proficient in Microsoft Office; strong reading of blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T); knowledge of QSR/ISO regulations, design assurance, FMEA, product testing methods; capable of using optical comparators and CMMs.
  • Knowledge of statistics, process control, and process capability; awareness of existing Zimmer products and basic understanding of competitive products.
Experience & Capabilities
  • Knowledge of the needs and capabilities of supporting departments and ability to identify and correct inaccurate information.
  • Experience with ISO/QSR compliance, quality systems, and supplier quality management.
Travel

Up to 50% travel for roles involving supplier collaboration.
