Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions in Vaughan, Canada, seeks a Quality Engineer to lead and develop the Quality Management System for RecordNA Canada during a 12-month contract covering a leave of absence.

You will own the QA strategy, manage customer-facing quality claims, stop production or shipments when required, and drive continuous improvement with BC365 ERP quality modules, ISO interactions, and cross-functional teams. English proficiency required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • Strong command of English, written and spoken.
  • Experience leading quality programs in manufacturing/assembly.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and quality tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously develop the RecordNA QMS for Canada.
  • Own the QA strategy and quality assurance across processes.
  • Manage quality claims and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Authorize recalls, stops of production/shipment when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement using BC365 ERP modules.

To lead, manage & continuously develop the quality management system for Entrematic NA, ensuring optimal quality in everything we do. Customer perceived quality is paramount and hence the scope of the role is Record NA. This role is expected to last a 12 month contract period and is temporarily covering a leave of absence.

Develop, Mentor&growteams&individualsto enable futuregrowthandinnovation

Securecustomer perceived qualitythrough continuously improving processes, tools,competenceand way of working.

Ensurethequalityawareness&business criticalitythrough communication,trainingand regular forums.

Document & research quality issuesusing theBC365ERPquality modulesfor RMAsand drivecontinuous improvement actions

Quality Management

The Quality Engineer is the voice of the Customer & Quality in theVaughanfacility.

QualityEngineerwill lead and manage quality claims process

Authorized torecommend a production order orshipmentbestoppedforassessment.

ThePEDESTRIANNAQuality Engineerwill have the final authority to stop or hold a shipment or production order, after the assessment is complete.

Authorized to quarantine parts and/orproductsfor disposition

Propose & lead recall whenrequired

Reduce annual warranty cost and other KPI’s as directed

All other assigned duties, as necessary

Quality Management System

Ownership ofRecordNAQMS&BC365 RMAQualityClaimsfor RecordNA(Canada)

Main interface to external certification bodies (E.g.ISO, TUV, SP)

Manage findings and non-conformities from internal/external audits

Authorized to delegate & follow up actionsconcerning QMS across wider CAorganization

Whileperformingthes responsibilitiesofthe job, theemployeeisrequiredto talk andhear. Theemployeeisoftenrequiredtositandusetheirhands andfingers, tohandleorfeel. Theemployeeisoccasionallyrequiredtostand, walk, reachwitharmsand hands, climborbalance, and tostoop,kneelorcrouch. Visionabilitiesrequiredbythisjobincludeclosevision.

Whileperformingthedutiesofthisjob, theemployeeisoccasionallyexposedtomovingmechanicalparts andvehicles. Thenoiselevelin theworkenvironmentisusuallyquietto moderate. Exposure tointermediate/loudnoiseisexpectedwhenworkingin themanufacturingenvironment.

Requirements:

Education:ABachelor’s degree in engineeringor documented experience from successfully running similar operation/functionin similar industry.

Languages:Proficient in spoken and written English isnecessary, other languages isan advantage.

Computer skills:Proficient ability to handle office tools isnecessaryand experience from claims handling applicationsis an advantage

Other:Experience fromestablishingquality management systems and implementing digital tools/applications is meriting

Experience:Minimum3-5years of experience in a global and complex supply chain/qualityorganizationis preferred

Compensation: $30-36/hr, based on experience.
