Job summary

Win-Shield Devices, based in Winnipeg, is seeking a Quality Engineer to liaison between Quality and Engineering. You will develop, implement, and improve quality standards to ensure product and process integrity throughout manufacturing.

The role ensures compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971, aligning with customer specifications and regulatory requirements. A strong background in audits and calibration is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, quality management, or related field.
  • Experienced/certified auditor for ISO 9001 & ISO 13485.
  • Experience in quality tasks including calibration and statistical process control.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing, monitoring, improving and controlling the quality system as required.
  • Perform periodic process and product audits and Quality System Audits to ISO 9001 & ISO 13485.
  • Prepare for external audits and respond to non-conformances with corrective actions.
  • Oversee receiving inspection and disposition of non-conforming material from external providers.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and team members for containment and resolution.
  • Assist on new product launches, development, documentation and process validation.
  • Supervise calibration program and equipment disposition, and conduct MSA.
  • Work with engineering to qualify new equipment or tooling for process improvement.
  • Lead and train team members on quality standards and best practices.
  • Other tasks as required by the Quality Director.

Bachelor's degree in engineering/quality management or related field

Compensation: $70,000+ (based on experience)

The Role

The Quality Engineer will work as a liason between Quality and Engineering department developing, implementing, and continuously improving quality standards and inspection criteria to ensure product and process integrity throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

This role ensures compliance with international standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971.

Requested Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field
  • Experienced/certified auditor for ISO 9001 & ISO 13485
  • Experience in quality tasks and function including calibration, statistical process
  • Experience in manufacturing or a similar working environment

  • Prepare and assist during external audits. To receive, implement, and respond to non conformances and validate corrective actions.
  • Oversee receiving inspection and to notify, control and coordinate the disposition of non-conforming material from external providers. To receive and validate corrective actions.
  • Effectively work with customers, suppliers, and other team members to ensure a quick and effective containment and problem resolution.
  • Assist on new product launches, development, documentation and process validation.
  • Supervise, coordinate and maintain the calibration program, including the disposition of equipment out of calibration, and sourcing new equipment. Perform Measurement System Analysis.
  • Work with engineering department to qualify new equipment or tooling for the improvement of processes.
  • Lead and train team members on quality standards and best practices.
  • Other tasks as required the Quality Director.
