JOB DESCRIPTION: SENIOR OTA ON BOARD QUALITY ENGINEER

We are seeking an experienced OTA Triage and Quality Engineer to support post-launch products. The role involves engaging with cross-functional global teams to resolve OTA quality issues arising from warranty claims, customer feedback, or post-launch assessments. The ideal candidate will foster a collaborative team environment while delivering high value to our customers.

1. Lead initial triage for all post-launch OTA quality issues using various tools and identify root causes for development teams.
2. Utilize CAN, cloud logs, and in-vehicle logs to diagnose issues.
3. Capture logs from management lease vehicles or early access program members to assist in root cause analysis.
4. Set up bench or vehicle environments to replicate issues and collect additional logs as needed.
5. Analyze OTA quality KPI metrics for designated power-ups.
6. Drive OTA JIRA quality issues to resolution using engineering and quality practices such as 5Ds, Fishbones, IS/ISNOT, 8D, R/1000 projections, and warranty analysis tools.
7. Create weekly JIRA reports for OTA issues and present quality insights to executive management.
8. Leverage connected vehicle backend data to project FOTA or MMOTA issues, warranty impacts, and overall quality metrics.
9. Assist in Go-No-Go production and pilot OTA launch decisions, maintaining tracking sheets for feature content versus deployment schedules.
10. Present quality perspectives on critical OTA issues using analytical data and benchmarks to senior management.
11. Maintain and track KPIs to achieve best-in-class metrics.
12. Proactively address customer-facing issues using operational analytics dashboards and communication channels.
13. Maintain clear communication with supervisors and peers, balancing daily and weekly demands.

The minimum requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience handling connected vehicle quality concerns.
• 3+ years of experience with CAN and cloud tools.
• 2+ years understanding failure mode avoidance methods like QH, Interface Analysis, DFMEA, etc.
• 1+ year experience querying large datasets for investigations.
• Experience with connected vehicle cloud systems, smartphone apps, wireless devices, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
