We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer to oversee and manage the quality of all product and packaging supplied by vendors and contract manufacturers in the skin care industry. The successful candidate will ensure that all incoming materials and components meet established quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements, product specifications and purchase orders. This role involves collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain the highest level of product quality.
Job Description:
- Supplier Quality Management: Develop and implement quality control processes to monitor and evaluate the performance of suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Auditing and Compliance:Conduct regular supplier audits to assess manufacturing processes, quality systems, and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Issue Resolution:Address and resolve quality issues related to supplied materials, facilitating root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with suppliers.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier performance, audit findings, and quality metrics. Prepare reports for management review and support data-driven decision-making.
- Continuous Improvement: Work closely with suppliers to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with internal departments, including Product Development, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing/Commercial Heads to ensure alignment on quality standards and requirements.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality management, preferably within the cosmetics, personal care, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Proficiency in quality management systems, supplier auditing techniques, and root cause analysis methodologies. Familiarity with regulatory standards pertinent to the cosmetics industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Experience with ISO & EU standards relevant to the cosmetics industry.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis software and quality management tools.
- This position may require travel to supplier sites for audits and assessments.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and adhering to safety protocols.
