Job summary

Control Tech is seeking a Quality Coordinator to support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of our quality assurance and quality control programs. You will help ensure compliance with the Quality Manual, client requirements, and applicable standards while promoting continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or recognized technical certification in quality management, electrical engineering, instrumentation, construction, or a related field; equivalent combo may be considered.
  • Minimum four (4) years of progressive quality assurance or quality control experience in instrumentation or construction environments.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, conducting, supporting, and following up on internal, client, project, or supplier audits.
  • Auditor or lead-auditor training is a plus.

Job Brief

The Quality Coordinator supports the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of Control Tech’s quality assurance and quality control programs. The role ensures compliance with the Quality Manual, client requirements, applicable codes and standards, and supports continuous improvement across operations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Understands customer needs and requirements and supports the development and improvement of effective quality control processes.
  • Monitors compliance with customer requirements, applicable legislation, codes, standards, and company quality procedures.
  • Coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality plans, inspection and test plans, procedures, and project‑specific quality documentation for instrumentation and electrical construction projects.
  • Plans, coordinates, and participates in internal, client, supplier, and project quality audits and inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and the Quality Management System.
  • Collaborates with project teams to identify, document, expedite, and resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Maintains accurate audit, inspection, non‑conformance, corrective action, and quality performance records, including follow‑up and closure tracking.
  • Prepares detailed quality and audit reports, analyzes trends, and communicates findings, risks, and recommended actions to project stakeholders and management.
  • Ensures all construction activities adhere to safety and quality guidelines.
  • Supports supplier and subcontractor qualification, surveillance, and quality performance evaluations, including participation in supplier audits when required.
  • Collaborates with procurement and project management teams to address quality‑related issues with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Develops and delivers quality orientation, audit‑readiness, and process training to enhance quality awareness and skills across project teams and promote continuous improvement and best practices within Control Tech.
  • Facilitates root‑cause analysis and corrective and preventive action processes, verifies the effectiveness of actions taken, and recommends improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with clients, supports client and regulatory audits, addresses quality concerns, and contributes to client satisfaction.
  • Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies.
  • Other duties as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree, diploma, or recognized technical certification in quality management, electrical engineering, instrumentation, construction, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum four (4) years of progressive quality assurance or quality control experience, preferably within instrumentation, electrical construction, industrial construction, or maintenance environments.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, conducting, supporting, and following up on internal, client, project, or supplier audits.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results‑driven approach.
  • Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and emerging leadership skills, with the interest and capability to develop toward a future management role.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures, audit principles, corrective action processes, and relevant legislation, codes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, report‑writing, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience preparing audit evidence, documenting findings, tracking corrective actions, and supporting audit closure; auditor or lead‑auditor training is considered an asset. Knowledge of installation and commissioning procedures and equipment used to perform these activities.
