Shift: Monday - Friday

Position Overview

Manitoba Harvest is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician for a short-term contract at our Hemp Oil Canada facility in Ste. Agathe, MB, located just 15 minutes south of the perimeter on Highway 75.

Job Description

The QC Lab Technician ensures that ingredients, packaging, work-in-progress, and finished products meet quality, food safety, and sanitation standards set by company, government, and third-party requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Guide product sampling and sample submission processes across departments.
  2. Perform biological, chemical, physical, and organoleptic testing as per specifications.
  3. Record laboratory results into the central database.
  4. Communicate results and create Certificates of Analysis.
  5. Support R&D projects with analytical work.
  6. Maintain laboratory organization, records, and supplies.
  7. Participate in inspections, audits, root cause analysis, and risk assessments.
  8. Advise on food safety programs and certifications (GLPs, BRC, HACCP, GMP).
  9. Report quality and safety issues for corrective action.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Degree or diploma in Food Science, Biosciences, or related field.
  2. Experience in a laboratory or food processing environment preferred.
  3. Knowledge of SOPs, GLPs, HACCP, GMPs.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  5. Strong English language skills.
  6. Organized and detail-oriented.
  7. Flexibility to work extra hours and weekends if needed.
