Job description

Journeyperson or Apprentice Instrumentation Technician

Description

We are seeking experienced Instrumentation Technician or those with an active apprenticeship with live plant experience. Our Fort McMurray Industrial projects are stable and long-term which means you can plan for your future, whether that be saving for your child’s education or your next amazing vacation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Read and interpret drawings and follow code specifications and procedures
  2. Installation of instrumentation tubing, inspecting, testing and fault finding
  3. Installation of instruments, hoses and fabrication
  4. Calibration of components and instruments according to manufacturers’ specifications
  5. Journeypersons must be willing to act as a mentor to apprentices

Qualifications:

  1. Have a Journeyperson Instrumentation certification or be a registered apprentice from a recognized provincial training authority
  2. Experience working on a construction project in an industrial setting
  3. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  4. Effective communication skills
  5. Able to successfully complete a pre-access drug and alcohol test
  6. Successful candidates will require Common Safety Orientation or Basic Safety Orientation

Work Conditions:

  1. 14 days on and 7 days off rotational shift working 10 hour days
  2. Camp based accommodations provided for non-local candidates
  3. Extended Health & Wellness Benefits provided by CLAC Alberta
  4. Travel Allowance for non-locals is provided, however candidates are responsible for arranging their own flights / transportation to and from camp
