Job description

Are you passionate about Quality Control and Baking?

Embassy is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team. You’ll conduct analytical product testing, maintain high accuracy standards, and inspire our operators to follow best practices. When challenges arise, you’ll lead on-site investigations, providing immediate support to ensure safe resolutions and uphold our commitment to top-notch products. Core hours: 6:15 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday to Friday (Changes to your core shift may be required on short notice to meet production demands, cover vacations, accommodate weekend shifts, and handle overtime work.)

What your role will be Responsible For:

  • Supporting all food safety certification programs and initiatives.
  • Supporting and leading all quality and production lean initiatives.
  • Updating and maintaining QC-related SOPs.
  • Storing and maintaining QC Retain samples.

Analytical Testing:

  • Daily/live QC analytical testing for dry & liquid operations.
  • Conducting positive release on good inventory.
  • Placing batches on hold as required.
  • Stopping the line if needed to prevent major food safety risks or repeat errors and providing solutions/next steps to the operations team.
  • Maintaining a high level of testing accuracy achieving no less than 99.95% annual testing accuracy rate.
  • Leading all aspects of the facility hold/reblend program.
  • Completing a daily QC on-site verification.
  • Training operators on quality processes.
  • Immediate support function for all operations issues found.
  • Providing immediate support to the operations group as needed.
  • Sending out daily Quality/Production report.

What you need to bring to Embassy:

  • College diploma or university degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or Microbiology.
  • Excellent computer, reporting, and time management skills.
  • Prior Co-op experience (6 months and above) or minimum 1 year of related experience in quality control in a food manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Proven ability to lead continuous improvement projects from start to finish.
  • Ability to work all shifts - Days & Afternoons & weekends is required.
