Job summary

Stuart Olson is seeking a Level 2 Quality Inspector for our Fort Saskatchewan site. The role focuses on multi-discipline field inspections, verifying welding and product quality, and supporting field execution with review of drawings and specs.

The ideal candidate holds a CWB Level 2 certification with 3–5 years in construction/maintenance, and enjoys working with regulatory authorities. Pre-access drug and alcohol testing is required, with safety and quality as top priorities.

Qualifications

• CWB Level 2 welding inspector certification is required.
• 3-5 years experience in the maintenance or construction industry.
• Journeyman trade designation is an asset.
• WET or MET degree is an asset.
• Experience working with regulatory authorities (TSBC, ABSA, TSASK, ITSM).
• Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Pre-access Drug and Alcohol test required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project team adherence to Stuart Olson's Quality Management System.
• Perform multi-discipline field inspections and verify product quality.
• Review drawings and specifications to support field execution.
• Conduct inspections of welding activities, verifying compliance with approved welding procedures.
• Prepare Nondestructive Examination (NDE) requests and review NDE reports.
• Assist in the development and execution of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), identifying hold/witness points and securing client approvals.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including at heights, in confined spaces, and around noise and dust
• Physically capable of standing, walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding, and lifting up to 50 lbs. (or more with assistance)
• Must be clean shaven and able to wear required PPE, including steel-toed safety boots and respiratory protection as required by site policies.
