Job summary

Stuart Olson is seeking Level 1 CWB Quality Inspectors for an immediate start on a turnaround site north of Fort McMurray. This role offers exposure to quality management systems and field inspections.

Candidates with CWB Level 1, 3–5 years’ experience, and a strong safety mindset are encouraged to apply. Relocation and travel details may be available.

Qualifications

• Must have CWB Level 1 welding inspector certification.
• 3-5 years' experience in maintenance or construction industry.
• Journeyman trade designation is an asset.
• ET in Welding Engineering Technology (WET) or Materials Engineering Technology (MET) an asset.
• Experience with regulatory authorities (TSBC, ABSA, TSASK, ITSM).
• Excellent computer skills with MS Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Pre-access Drug and Alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project team adherence to Stuart Olson’s Quality Management System.
• Assist in the development and execution of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), including hold/witness points and client approvals.
• Review drawings, specifications to support field execution.
• Inspect welding activities for compliance with procedures.
• Perform multi-discipline field inspections and verify product quality.
• Prepare NDE requests and review NDE Reports.
• Liaise with Inspectors for pressure vessel repairs and ASME B31.1 piping inspections.
• Participate in audits of the Quality Management System.

Working Conditions

• Able to and exposure to working at heights, in confined spaces and around noise and dust


• Working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions


• Must be clean shaven


• Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements

• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance


• Stand or walk for long periods of time


• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects


• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
