Profile:

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Control Inspector is directly accountable for product control including final inspection, in process inspections, documentation and control of non-conforming material; control and verification of production process changes, tooling control, and control of monitoring and measuring devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Acquire knowledge of process specifications and materials
  2. Implementation and continual improvement of product inspection plans
  3. Perform in-process and final inspection of detail parts, minor and structural assemblies, plans their execution, documentation, and record retention
  4. Perform inspection duties to ensure all products, processes and services comply with applicable airworthiness, Company, or customer quality requirements
  5. Manage nonconforming material control in accordance with company’s quality assurance procedures
  6. Provide assistance in quality review of Engineering Masters
  7. Liaise with quality engineering, methods engineering, design engineering and supply chain to develop resolutions and implement root cause corrective actions to technical or quality problems
  8. Manage the control of monitoring and measuring (inspection and test) devices in accordance with established company’s quality assurance procedures
  9. Actively participate and contribute as a member of the quality assurance team
  10. Monitoring, measuring and communicating product and process metrics
  11. Propose and support improvement projects related to quality assurance procedures
  12. Participate and support corrective action request as a result of nonconforming trend analysis
Qualifications:
  1. Transport Canada accredited College Diploma in Aeronautics is required an asset
  2. Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s license (AME) is an asset
  3. Technical degree or diploma in Aerospace Engineering is an asset
  4. A minimum of 2 years aerospace specific quality inspection and or equivalent
  5. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an inspection, production, or handling product role
  6. Experience in the maintenance of De Havilland DHC1 thru DHC6 aircraft types is an asset
  7. Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulation CAR 561, 571 and CAR Std. 57,561
  8. Understanding of Certificates of Conformance (CofC) issues by part makers and Airworthiness Release Certificates (FAA 8130/TCAA Form One/Easa Form 1)
  9. Experience in continuous improvement
  10. IFS ERP system experience (or similar i.e. Total FBO, TRAX etc.) for the control and issue of aeronautical parts and materials is an asset
Skills:
  1. Must have a strong attention to detail skills
  2. Knowledge and ability to read and understand complex aircraft design drawings/blueprints and perform measurements/testing of parts made to these designs
  3. Strong focus on both internal and external customer service with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
