Job summary

Polar Racking Inc. in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to safeguard product quality and supplier performance across North America. You will develop inspection plans, perform incoming inspections, and support first article, in-process, and final product checks.

This role requires a technical degree, 2–5 years in QA or manufacturing, and strong Excel skills. You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, maintain quality records, and help drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or diploma in a relevant engineering field.
  • 2–5 years in quality assurance or manufacturing.
  • Co-op, internship, or apprenticeship experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, APQP/PPAP is an asset.
  • Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Supply Quality Manager and support QC plans for product categories.
  • Perform receiving, first article, in-process, final product, packaging, and loading inspections.
  • Assist with measurement methods and equipment.
  • Assist with supplier evaluation and monitoring of quality performance.
  • Document results and maintain quality records.
  • Contribute to CAPA and root-cause investigations.
  • Participate in APQP/PPAP activities as required.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our suppliers’ products and processes, playing a key role in vendor evaluation, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will collaborate closely with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and customers to drive excellence in product quality and overall supply chain performance.

Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Supply Quality Manager.
  • Support the development and maintenance of quality control plans for assigned product categories.
  • Perform receiving inspections of incoming materials and components.
  • Conduct first article, in-process, final product, packaging, and loading inspections.
  • Assist with developing inspection methods and using measuring equipment.
  • Support material testing activities and maintain quality records and test reports.
  • Perform basic form, fit, and function testing and document results.
  • Ensure required vendor quality documentation is collected, reviewed, and filed.
  • Report quality issues to the Supply Quality Manager and assist with deviation requests.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assist with evaluating new suppliers and monitoring supplier quality performance.
  • Help implement quality control processes for new vendors.
  • Communicate quality concerns with internal teams, suppliers, and customers under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Participate in quality meetings, including APQP/PPAP activities, as required.
  • Use quality tools and problem-solving techniques to improve product quality.
  • Assist in tracking quality metrics and preparing quality performance reports.
  • Follow company quality standards, safety procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 2-5 years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Co-op, internship, or apprenticeship experience is considered an asset.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as stamping, welding, machining, forming, or assembly is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn quality systems and inspection techniques.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when needed.
  • Experience working with quality tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, or inspection equipment is an asset.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001 or IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, or basic Lean manufacturing principles is considered an asset but not required.
  • English language fluency (written and verbal) is required.
