Job description

Location: Tillsonburg, ON. Fleetwood Metal Industries, a division of Cleveland‑Cliffs, has an immediate opportunity for a Quality Engineer in the Tillsonburg, Ontario cold stamp facility.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for analyzing all stages of the manufacturing system to maximize the quality of the products being produced. The ideal candidate will have prior knowledge of prevention planning and the correction of non‑conformances, be self‑motivated, and thrive in a fast‑paced work environment.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Provides engineering and technical support for current products and new product launches.
  • Interfaces with customer quality representatives concerning quality problems and ensures effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Interprets customer specifications and requirements.
  • Applies and maintains quality operating system requirements and standards.
  • Maintains good internal and external supplier quality levels.
  • Serves as primary quality resource for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Designs and implements methods for process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Develops and analyzes quality metrics, COPQ & IPPM.
  • Logs into corporate supplier portal and accesses and navigates applicable customer portals.
  • Participates in supplier development and monitoring activities.
  • Participates in audits, including determining proper corrective and preventative actions.
  • Abides by all company policies, including Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality, Human Resources, and the Employee Handbook.
  • Develops, implements, and participates in training to build quality awareness.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Post‑secondary education in Quality or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong metrology background, including CMM and scanning.
  • Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, MSA, IATF16949, ISO14001:2015 and Control Plans.
  • Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands in a challenging and fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
  • Ability to lift and move parts up to 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of any applicable customer‑specific requirements.

Salary range: $65,000 – $90,000.
