DECIEM | THE ABNORMAL BEAUTY COMPANY is hiring a Quality Control Chemist for our Eastside Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke. The role focuses on testing, reviewing, and releasing raw materials, packaging, bulk products and finished goods on site.

You will work with inventory, regulatory, and R&D teams to ensure materials meet quality standards; follow GLP and internal procedures while documenting results for compliance.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in the quality control department.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivation and ability to solve complex problems.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluation on raw materials and packaging components per Quality SOPs.
• Test and release incoming raw materials including color, odor, texture, pH, viscosity, FTIR and titration.
• Verify and release of incoming primary and secondary packaging components.
• Clean, sanitize, calibrate and verify lab equipment (pH meters, viscometers, scales, thermometers).
• Receive, organize and store retained samples of raw materials and packaging components.
• Collaborate with inventory control and warehouse to test materials per procedure.
• Liaise with Design, Regulatory and R&D for new material/packaging launches.
• Address all packaging component questions from operations or suppliers.
• Document activities and results per quality standards.
• Follow GLP, GxP and internal procedures across labs; ensure compliance with Corporate Quality Systems.
