Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is seeking a co-op student in Geology or related engineering to join the Technical Marketing team in the Elk Valley, BC. You will help ensure coal and coke quality on spec, support bench testing, and collaborate with mine planning, operations, processing, logistics and marketing.

Starting January 2027 for 8 to 12 months, the role provides hands-on experience, mentorship from seasoned specialists, and opportunities to contribute to EVR product specifications and quality

Qualifications

• Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Geology, Chemical or Process Engineering
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s License or extra-provincial equivalent, without learner’s restrictions
• Motivated self‑strollers with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate and present complex ideas and technical information to all levels
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and to build relationships across multi-disciplinary technical teams
• Good trouble shooting, critical thinking, and decision‑making abilities
• Strong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite® package: Excel, Word, and Outlook

Responsabilités

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
• Data interrogation of weekly quality performance using multiple platforms, such as Power BI
• Coal aging study
• Large diameter bulk sampling drilling planning and execution
• Present at weekly meetings with mine site teams on quality performance
• Compile and deliver monthly quality performance of operations to technical marketing team
• Participate in lab audits
• Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
