Qualifications

• Successfully completed a minimum Grade 12 education.
• Auditor experience with preference to ISO 9001 Auditor Certification.
• Supervisory and/or Management Skills Training.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 Standard and QMS/Safety systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; strong documentation skills.
• Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5) and positive driving record.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and related documentation.
• Interact with QA Managers across divisions to ensure compliance and consistency of QMS.
• Assist with maintaining the Document Control directory for accuracy.
• Support internal audit program administration and guidance.
• Attend third-party external audits to provide support on quality items.

Emcon Services Inc. currently has an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as Quality Assurance Trainee at our Division office in Malahat, BC. This is a training position that will report to the Operations Manager, while receiving instruction, mentorship and guidance from the management team on the quality control and quality assurance aspects of our operations.

As Quality Assurance Trainee, you will work with the Management Team performing a number of Quality Control and Quality Assurance related activities including:

• Learning about the application and implementation of the company’s Quality Management System(s) (QMS) and associated quality documentation including manuals, forms, documented processes and work methods.
• Interacting frequently with Quality Assurance Managers both within the Division and in each of our operating areas on issues of quality control and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance and consistency of the company’s QMS.
• Assisting with the company’s Document Control directory for accuracy and currency against requirements of the maintenance agreement and QMS requirements.
• Assist with the implementation, administration and guidance of the company’s internal audit program.
• Attend 3rd Party external audits throughout the Division when conducted to provide support to the management group on quality related items.

• Successfully completed a minimum Grade 12 education
• Auditor experience with preference to ISO 9001 Auditor Certification
• Supervisory and/or Management Skills Training
• Familiarity with the application of the ISO 9001 Standard
• Familiarity with the fundamental application of Quality and/or Safety Management Systems
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other associated Office Software Platforms
• Above average analytical and organizational skills needs for the completion of reports and documentation
• Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5) and a positive driving record.

The Quality Assurance Trainee is a non-union, salaried, management position with a wage range of $65,000 - $75,000 per annum. Compensation and benefits will be based on the experience of the successful candidate.
