Job summary

MPI is seeking a QA leader in Richmond, BC to drive QA programs, CFIA compliance, Tier 1 retailer audits, and complaint management, while supporting R&D initiatives for frozen seafood products.

The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years of QA experience, proven ability to optimize processes, pass audits, enforce testing standards, and manage CFIA regulations in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of QA experience.
  • Extensive experience with process optimization and food safety, auditing, refining QA frameworks to elevate standards and team productivity.
  • Proven ability to challenge production to enforce standards and testing.
  • Hands-on experience passing Tier 1 supermarket audits (nice-to-have).
  • Experience managing CFIA regulations

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, optimize, and execute QA systems and SOPs across value-add processing lines, driving continuous improvement.
  • Handle customer health and safety complaints and quality inquiries.
  • Act as primary CFIA liaison and co-lead Tier 1 global retailer factory audits.
  • Guarantee product traceability and audit-ready presentation standards.
  • Support R&D: validate ingredients, finalize formulations, translate culinary ideas into data specs for production.

In this role, you will leading the QA programs, CFIA compliance, Tier 1 retailer audits, complaint management, and supporting R&D initiatives.

Our client is a well known importer, wholesaler of premium quality frozen seafood products. They have a global presence and have been in this business for 30+ years.

Description
  • Evaluate, optimize, and execute our existing Quality Assurance systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all value-add processing lines, driving continuous improvement initiatives to elevate overall seafood quality and maximize team efficiency.
  • Complaints: Handle customer health and safety complaints, and quality related inquires.
  • Regulatory & Audits: Act as the primary CFIA liaison and co-leading and passing Tier 1 global retailer factory audits.
  • Sample Zone Management: Guarantees flawless product traceability, rigorous sensory standardization, and an audit-ready presentation standard for executive and client showcases.
  • R&D Support: Support on the validation and sourcing of ingredients, finalize formulation ratios, and translate subjective culinary creations into strict, scalable data specifications for the production floor.

  • Experienced managing CFIA regulations
