Job summary

Intercity Packers Ltd. is seeking a Food Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards. The role develops and reviews quality and safety policies, manages third-party audits, and supports SQF compliance in a fast-paced environment.

On-floor monitoring (60%) and office work (40%) are required. A Bachelor’s in science with HACCP certification is preferred, and experience with protein products is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, preferably food or nutrition science.
• HACCP certification required.
• GFSI certification an asset.
• Experience in protein food industry.
• Able to perform duties in a cold environment (cooler/freezer).

Responsibilities

• Ensure food products meet company and regulatory standards.
• Develop and review quality/safety policies and manage audits.
• Adhere to safe work practices and implement HACCP principles.
• Conduct on-floor monitoring (60%) and office work (40%).
• Create/update internal policies to meet SQF requirements.
• Inspect production lines for compliance.
• Assist in employee Food Safety and Quality training.
• Return product inspection and credit management.
• Collaborate with other departments for compliance.
• Address customer complaints promptly.
