Job summary

FTAI Aviation is seeking a bilingual Quality Assurance professional to conduct audits of maintenance, safety, and operations, ensuring compliance with CARs and international standards. You will investigate incidents, analyze trends, and drive corrective actions across multiple teams.

The role emphasizes contributing to the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and continuous improvement programs, collaborating with operations, engineering, and repair centers to sustain peak quality and safety

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Minimum 3 years Quality Assurance experience in aviation.
  • Experience with aviation maintenance, operations, and QA programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal audits of maintenance, operational, and safety systems to ensure regulatory compliance (CARs, international standards).
  • Investigate incidents and discrepancies, analyze trends, and prepare root cause reports.
  • Verify activities and documentation meet applicable aviation regulations and safety standards.
  • Monitor QA process adherence, identify gaps, and drive corrective and preventive actions across teams.
  • Follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely completion.
  • Support the Safety Management System (SMS) development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Apply statistical quality control, lean concepts, and six-sigma tools for process improvement.
  • Liaise with operations, repair center, and engineering on QA matters.

JOB OVERVIEW

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting audits and inspections: Perform internal audits of maintenance, operational, and safety systems to ensure compliance with regulations such Transport Canada's CARs, international standards and company policies, such as the Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM) and other international regulations.
  • Investigating issues: Investigate incidents and discrepancies, analyze trends, and take part in root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences and create reports
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance: Verify that all activities and documentation adhere to applicable aviation regulations (e.g., CARs), safety standards, and other requirements.
  • Monitor adherence to QA process, identify gaps and work multiple teams to implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Implementing corrective actions: Follow up on, monitor, and ensure the timely completion of corrective and preventive actions identified during audits occurrence and SMS reporting.
  • Continuous improvement: Support the development and implementation of the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses
  • Quality Assurance support/liaison with the various areas such as operations, repair center, engineering etc.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be bilingual (French and English)
  • Must have 3 years Quality Assurance Environment experience.
  • Minimum of 3 year of technical engine maintenance experience or repair shop experience
  • In this function the candidate must be open minded to address Culture Change, listening and share best practices within the Safety Culture mindset.
  • Abilities to support shop floor employees and other support group (customer support/ Engineering) with QA and regulatory related issues.
  • Experience with aviation maintenance, operations, and quality assurance programs.
  • Experience with investigation tools and methodologies such as 6S, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), and 5 Whys for problem-solving and process improvement
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for writing reports and collaborating with various teams and regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
